

Davide Cali is the author of over 40 books for children, and has been published in 25 languages around the world.
ONE OF EUROPE’S most acclaimed writers for children, Swiss-Italian Davide Cali made his first ever visit to Australia in May 2012.
The Baobab Prize winner was guest speaker at the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s National Conference in Adelaide (17-19 May), and will visited New South Wales and Victoria during an intensive two-week tour, which included school and bookshop visits and other events.
Dates included:
- 1 to 15 May: The countdown to Davide’s visit starts with a 16-day Davide Cali Blog Tour, involving some of Australia’s most popular book blogs. Check it out here.

- 19 May (2.00-2.45pm): Talk/presentation to Children’s Book Council of Australia National Conference, Adelaide
- 19 May (3.30-4.00pm): Launch of Davide Cali’s new book, the award-winning graphic novel 10 Little Insects, at the CBCA National Conference.
- 20 May (1.00-5.00pm): Writers’ Workshop at SA Writers’ Centre
VICTORIA
- 22 May (daytime): School visits in Geelong
- 22 May (4.30pm): An Afternoon with Davide Cali for kids
- 22 May (6.30pm): An Evening with Davide Cali/Launch of 10 Little Insects at Readings Bookshop, Carlton
- 23 May (daytime): School visits in Melbourne
- 23 May (evening): Dinner with CBCA (Victoria branch), Melbourne – CBCA members only
- 24 May (10am): Davide will launch ‘Reading for Social Peace’, a National Year of Reading Project created in conjunction with Yarra Plenty Regional Library, Lalor Library.
- 24 May (daytime): School visits in Melbourne
- 24 May (evening): Private reception at Books Illustrated, Melbourne
- 25 May: School visits in Geelong
NEW SOUTH WALES
